Joy in Chains
Paul wrote this letter from prison, and it is the most joyful letter he ever wrote. Joy as a settled conviction rather than a mood. Unity in a church in a distant Roman colony, standing firm in one accord. A Christ who emptied himself for others, worth more than everything else, and contentment in whatever state you are in. A letter about what a life looks like when it is anchored somewhere solid.
