Colossians

Christ Above All

Christ is Lord — and everything in Colossians hangs on that sentence. Paul warns a church he had not planted that the real threat to their faith was not persecution but sophistication: empty philosophy, self-made religion, rules that look like holiness. Then he turns to the ordinary — a household ordered, a life of prayer, and a circle of friends in chains who were Paul's comfort and who prayed for them.
